It's Marine Week in Boston and they have parked some utility vehicles in Copley Square. Surely, this is a measured attempt to intercept daily foot traffic. I find the juxtaposition of tanks and canons outside a church a bit eerie & alarming. It conjures images of death and destruction in a place many people traditionally go to forgive and reflect. It also is a stark reminder of how often those two industries (war and religion) are intertwined, no?
It struck me.
